Root Canal Therapy
When the nerve tissue inside a tooth is dead, dying or causing severe pain, root canal therapy is an option to save the tooth. The unhealthy tissue inside the tooth is removed and then disinfected. The tooth is then refilled both inside and out. Lastly, to protect the tooth from cracking, we usually recommend a crown (acting like a helmet) to protect the tooth so that long term function can be enhanced.

Oral Cancer Screening
As part of your comprehensive exam, the dentist will do a thorough visual examination and palpation of all tissues inside the mouth. All patients will have their tongue, throat, inside of cheeks, and roof of mouth looked at and touched to screen for mouth cancers. Any areas of concern will be referred to a specialist for further evaluation. Regular care with your dentist will improve the chances of catching and treating an early cancer.
